Last Friday, March 13, 2020, Serenity Point Counseling Services posted on this page that all group therapy activities are to be suspended for the weeks of March 16-20 and March 23-27. This decision was made by the Administrative and Management team after learning late Friday afternoon that schools will be closed March 17, through at least April 24 as part Washington State preventative measures to combat the spread of COVID-19. We are aware of the impact this will have on our consumers, staff and the community in finding childcare alternatives for the children of our community.

Two goals of our decision to suspend group therapy activities are to:

  1. Eliminate and/or minimize the emotional stress of our consumers and staff who are in need of finding alternative childcare.
  2. Minimize risk of exposure to COVID-19.

Counselors will be reaching out to all consumers via phone and/or the Patient Portal to schedule individual meetings and assess their circumstances.

Some of our group participants have voiced valid concern of exposure while sitting in a group setting. Serenity Point will be implementing additional infectious control measures during this break in group therapy activities. In addition, Serenity Point will continue to consult and follow the recommendations provided by the Health Care Authority and the Center for Disease Control.

Individual and Assessment services will continue to be provided. Staff will be available onsite and by telephone Monday-Friday.
